I stripped the threads in one of my heads once. Had to get a helicoil insert to sort the problem. Previous owner must have overtightened the bolts.Be careful with the valve cover bolts. They are very thin at the threaded end and can break.

Wonderful useful things Helicoils. About the only approved way to fix threads stripped out in aircraft engines.
