Richman2000 did an awesome job of replacing his vents with a black mesh.
I hated those plastic "shark gill" vents, they were especially tedious when cleaning my bike. I was constantly pondering how to get rid of them, and Richman showed me the light.
So, I have enough of the aluminum mesh to do one GL 1500, Left and Right sides, once. I also have the spray primer and black gloss paint. Free for anyone in the local area or if you are planning on passing through here. PM me.
Be forewarned, this is not a "remove and slap in the replacement". Both fairing sides have to come off. You will need to remove the plastic fins but retain the air cowling and be able to perceive how the mesh needs to be formed so the fairings fit back in. Air flow is the key here,
As with any engineering process, measure ten times and cut only once. Your call, but the result is very cool, check out the Richman's post.
