Hi Rick,
:dance:The seals are part of the chrome finish around the door / lids. You might take a close look the doors and make sure the chrome is seated correctly all the way around. When I painted my lids, I took the chrome off by carefully prying it using a flat screwdriver and a socket for leverage. Putting itback on, I used a plastic hammer and wood to seat it back on.
I also found the locks to be just about useless since thereis very little to hook on to. Most likely the best way to protect your stuff is getting a few of those plastic travel bags and insert them inside to keep things waterproof. You might still want to drill a could of small holes on the bottom for drainage. :cooler:
