Hi, we are trying to put right a problem with a 1986 GL1200 Aspencade, which vibrates badly when you either rev it through low revs, when its in neutralor ride it at low revs during starting to pull off from a standing start or low speed.

Once you are moving at a constant speed the vibration goes.unless you open the throtle hard again and it is momentary there again!! HELP

If the vibes are bad and not c#accompanied by knocking sounds, could be the clutch breaking up.

Could also be a piston problem, like wear in the small ends. Noises like that really need an experienced ear to determine what they are, a trip to your local mechanic would be the best option.
