Is someone going to set up a live video feed? It was fun to watch all the fun during last year's event.

There are no formal plans, but if someone would like to do it, they are very welcome.

IIRC one of the downsides was that it tied up all the hotel's internet resources. Since we won't be taking the whole hotel as we did in Eureka Springs that might ruffle feathers. More knowledgeable internet experts may clarify.

It depends on how much capacity the motel has.

Note for NASSIR 7 - find a motel/hotel with LOTS of internet bandwidth.

When it gets a reasonable ride distance I will. Really hoping it comes West next year.

Tigger, NASSIR was on the West Coast in 2011, I wished you would have been there because I would have loved to meet you! Hopefully, you can make it to one soon! :waving:

Yeah, I've missed a couple good ones. 2011 at John's would have been great. And the one in Montrose would have been fabulous. I lived there for 5 years when I was a kid. My dad helped build Crystal Dam. Would have been fun to visit the old stomping grounds.

Heading West for 2014. :praying::praying:

Am I wrong in thinking a volunteer/leader needs to be present at this years event to present an idea to host next years ? Thats how I thought it is done .

IT was very nice of Rudy to set up the video stream at NASSIR V . I enjoyed watching all that I was able to see . But I am sure it was quite an undertaking setting up cameras and cords ect .
I did try to make some phone bidding but the time delay to my house always had me to late bidding thru my proxy bidder . IT was still fun though .

Next year's location is probably already selected or will be shortly. As I understand it, Wexy has a list of those who are willing to host and the selection is made by a small committee of the admins. The announcement of the location should be made at Simcoe.

Another problem with the live feed is that it had to be monitored and one member in particular :)raspberry:) had to be sensored quite a bit.

Yep. If you are willing to host a NASSIR then you need to contact Wexy and let him know you are interested. It requires a bit of work but it is a lot of fun and well worth the effort IMHO. I'm quite certain several of the previous hosts, including myself, will be glad to give you our 2-cents about what we've learned that worked and didn't work. :waving:

I wish I could make this event, I really really want to.....

I have read some of the old threads from past Nassir events and I attended N5. Hats off to Flyone and company for putting on a great event that was well thought out and event packed. Although I did not go on one single ride, I enjoyed myself as much as anyone.

Every Nassir event is not going to be like the last one, this is not or should not be "One upmanship" were the next event has to be better than the last.

I attend a lot of events around my local areas for this forum and others, The most enjoyable part of these events is the comradery that we all enjoy by just sitting around a camp fire or Holtel parking lot in our lawn chars exchanging BS......... Without "US" attending, most of the fun won't be had by anyone, regardless of the location or events planned.

Although I appreciate Rudy bringing the camera's last year, I think it may have set a tone for future events in that I can just sit home and watch and don't have to attend........ Personnaly, I wouldn't want to see another one video taped.

Thanks for the kind words about NASSIR 5!

I agree, no two NASSIR'S will be the same due to facilities/location and Thanks to Rudy and the members who attended taking over the whole host motel, we (with Rudy's brain) made last years video feed happen. Not to say that it didn't have issues because there were a few of them. Bandwidth and equipment needed are very expensive and couldn't have happened without both being supplied by Rudy. It was a special gift from Rudy to the members and in honor of the 5th NASSIR.

I do not see a video feed being able to happen because the host motel won't let it. The reason is because the motel guests who are not there attending NASSIR would want the benefit of Internet which they paid for in their cost of the room.

Sorry folks, unless somebody donates a satellite truck to broadcast from NASSIR, it won't happen.
