Welcome to the forum FredA! you have to eliminate some of the easy stuff to try and isolate your problem. The stators in the 1100's are pretty good but the wiring sucks.
On the rear of the engine, left side as your sitting on it you will find yellow wires coming out & they connect under your battery cover. The 3 yellow wires go into this connector & usually burn up in there.
Cut the 3 yellow wires & remove this plug completely. Re sodder them back together. The order does not matter, just 3 yellow to 3 yellow.
Now, clean all your main connections & fully charge your battery. Take it for another run & see if it's up around 13.8 to 14 volts at 3000 rpm. if it is, your good to go!!
