Wandering???

A friend and myself both have 1979 GL1000's. We have a question. At low speed (below 40 mph) our bikes tend to wander back and forth. I was told it was me that was causing it, but I have tried valiantly to not make a difference to how it handles, but it still wanders a bit.

Is this a condition that can be fixed, Is it a characteristic of the 1979's?

It could as well be the headstock bearing to tight . This would cause you to constantly be correcting . Either way If your tires are good I'd look at the headstock bearings.
