I have am 81 1100. the side covers on the bottom have a flat surface shaped like a wedge. some one at some time filled this space with chrome wedge bits. I am looking for a pair???? Anyone ??? have a pic I can't seem to find right now. think if it is needed you don't have them anyway. will try to get pic soon.

Are you referring to the covers that are tri-angle shaped that filled in the space between the carbs and side covers?? Might have to check out some salvage yards.

I think, if you know how, you could wrap that area with chrome wrap material. I've never seen an actual chrome add-on, but it wouldn't surprise me if the aftermarket offered them, back when the bike was current.

You mean the black section, right?

I know what you mean,I had some once, think they may have been rusty, like aftermarket chrome gets, so I threw them away.

Do the ones you want bolt on with the chrome snap cap of the screw head ? Or do they use double side tape?
