Wanted, Engine side covers

Looking for a set of engine / frame covers for an 85 GL1200.

They are made from a molded plastic type ofmaterial. One side slips over the carbs and tucks under the fairing, the other side of it is held onby a fastener.

It makes for a very clean look, just have no idea where to find them.

Sorry I'm trying to add an image of what they look like, but not having any luck.

they are no longer made, and hard as heck to find, last time i saw a set i lost out in bidding for them

they are almost as pricey as left side battery covers

Thanks for the replies. I thought they might be tough to come by seeing how these bikes are up there in age.

Well since my son has a set and I am the DAD... (he has to obey his elders????)

Maybe I can "borrow" them..:D

I think perhaps as a project, I might make some plaster molds from these, then perhaps cover the mold with fiberglass to make a set. Just an idea as I realy like these covers.

Bart,

If you do that, you will have a builtin business option just waiting on you.

a lot of folks would love to have some of those.

I did find a set, i pm him the link. they were new with hardware for 250.00
not mine though.
If they were cheaper i would buy them, or if i had the money i would buy them and have a mold made and make some out of abs plastic and sell them for cheap.

I just sent the ebay a message. I asked him to send me a pic of the bike the covers come with. I then sent another one telling him that I have 2 of those and that i will sell them to him for $300 that way he can make a proffit.
WOnder what his response will be

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the replies. Im921 I have/did not receive(d) a/the pm for some reason.

I did manage to find a set. A forum member e-mailed me with info. I guess he has two sets.

They are (one set) coming my way, I'll have to paint them.

I'm still going to look into making molds to replicate them, I've got somestudying to do on that.

If there's still intrest in these, than I'll persue it further.

Thanks again for all the info and help.
