Does anyone know where I might get a small voltmeter with LED readout that I can mount near the gauges to monitor the charging system?

Cyclemax there in Ohio has a nice little digital voltmeter. I think it was around $30.00. I mounted mine just to the right of the right speaker where the rubber accessory plug is. Then just run your wires into the fusebox accessory terminals. Nice and neat and an easy job.

I have one of these on my 83, cost me about $15.

It's small, fits flush and works great. I also put a switch below it so it wouldn't stay on all the time as it's run straight to the battery for a true reading. It was linked to the ACC socket at first but was showing 1.5v lower than battery voltage.

Sorry I can't remember where I got it, but found that one here...
