I'm just wondering if I should worry about rain on my 1985 1200 Aspencade's radio? It has a radio and tape deck (auto reverse;)). I'm sure the system came sealed from the factory against the elements, but after 24 years, should I worry about seals going dry and seals leaking? Is there a good way to cover the system that doesn't look too ugly? If I wanted to upgrade, is it hard to find something that fits in the hole?

Didn't the stock radio come with a cover? I can't remember if it's a cover to block the opening or to cover the radio itself. In any event, I wouldn't consider the radio "waterproof" but rather "rain-tolerant". It's not designed to get a direct dousing, but Should be okay under "normal" riding conditions because it's pretty well protected behind the windscreen. If the bike is gonna stopped and you're expecting rain, you can always pull it and put it in the trunk.
