My other pride & joy is in the shop, the timing chain is bad, mechanic said he has never seen one go bad under 100,000 miles, just my luck, cuz she only has 54,000 miles on her.

I put 43,000 of those miles on her myself and yes I do love my wing but I sure do miss my other baby,it should be the end of next week when she is done,I can't wait........

I can not complain though, that is the first thing I have had to go wrong...

Must of a had a bad ***** in the link. Thats seems awfull early. Those chains should last 150,000 or more. I could see one stretched a little by about 65,000 not bad.. Well she get fixed and should last a long time.

Thats what I thought, told them to go ahead and ring it too,(was using a little oil between changes)
I like her and don't plan on parting with her anytime soon.
Now just the wait, but I hope it's right when it comes home.

My Brother-n-law decided to save a few bucks on his harley and had a local mechanic work on it and it is still leaking oil bad after have taken it back to him 3 times now.
He wishes now he would've took it to the harley shop.

Well,so much for getting the bike back in a week or so,the so has been over 4 weeks now.

And I just got a call saying the rings won't fit the pistons because kawasaki superseeded the pistons for that bike,so now it's another 200 bucks for pistons.

Sounds like I'm getting my chain yanked if ya ask me.
It's hard to believe I can not order rings for a 7 year old bike.
I think they ordered the wrong rings and told them that, but they assured me that is the case of the superseeded pistons.
So I asked how long till it is done and I get the same answer I have gotton from the get go.
About the end of next week..........

What do you guys think?

Well I got my baby back 2 weeks ago Thursday Oct 28,only took them 9 weeks, but the head mechanic did applogize & explained that with the opening of the new store and him going back and fourth,is one reason why it took so long.

But the main thing is I got her back and she is running great, and thats All I really wanted was for it to be right when it was done.

I have put a little over 1500 easy miles on her in the last 2 weeks breaking her in,

so I think now she will be fine for many many more miles to come.......:action::action::action::action:

Don'tcha love it when people learn on your motorcycle, then charge YOU for the experience? Sometimes I can be a REAL (fill in the blank) when that happens to me.

Sometimes you have to cut your losses and move on, or you go crazy. Sounds like you did as good as you could under the circumstances.

O I lost my temper a time or two with them.

But thats exactly what happened, the head mechanic was teaching the new ones at the new shop, and he told me,they could do the minor stuff, but he had to be there when it came to something major, but I'm just happy it was fixed right.....
