OK - I've tried this before but I'm still really quite confused.
I have a 1980 GL1100 and the top box and panniers need re-painting. The code lists seem to point to Candy Muse Der R104CU BUT I think I just saw that colour on another (similar) Wing and it is really quite 'red' and not the least like my more brown colour which sparkles in the lower layers of the paint....
Has anyone any clues as to exactly what paint is on my bike. It isn't RED and looks more brown/sparkle with a hint of red. I gave a keen supplier of aerosols who knows about the codes and can re-create them but I'm really not sure which co=de to give her!

Help will be much appreciated.
PS Just made my front forks shine like mirrors having fitted prog. springs front and back. Looking forward to UK Spring so I can get back out on the road when the Wing is back together again.

Hello again - It will be about £100 to take the plunge to buy the paint and I really do want to get it correct. Is the Wineberry colour more brown than red and does it have a sort of metallic sparkle in bright sunlight. Candy Muse Red (if that's what I saw on a Wing recently in David Silver Spares) does not seem to have the same underneath sort of sparkle. I know the code is R114CU for the Wineberry but is this the one I should go for?
Someone must've had this dilemma before...

Hi - great ideas about adding a couple of pics! Here's the bike. I've found out that it is a GL1100DB 1981 according to the Frame and Engine numbers!...at last!
Paint colour says Candy Muse Red R104CU but is that what the bike looks like?
All in pieces at the moment but this is what it looked like a while ago.

Thanks eveyone - I'm gonna go for Candy Muse Red (aformentioned R104CU) and live with it. I'll log in again when it's done (if it looks any good!) and put up some pics of the job as well as ultra shiny aluminium bits and re-chromed accents, carb covers and much more. All very exciting but quite expensive. Can't take it with you so might as well spend on worthwhile stuff!
