I think you just answered your own question. We used to have several steel bridges here in our city and going over them with a set of Bridgestones with a center groove was a nightmare. Put on a new set of Dunlops with no center groove and it was a totally different experience. I doubt that there's anything wrong with your bike that a new tire(s) wouldn't correct.
