What Hwy Pegs Give the Best Ground Clearance on a 1800

I ride with a friend and we scape the normal pegs ALOT on the twisty roads so I need the most ground clearance I can get out of my hwy pegs. I am posting a link to the kurikan(Sp) page. I already installed some pegs a couple of years ago but I bumped into a car doing a 100mph and the peg went into his wheel and snapped off. I am sure glad i wasn't resting my foot on it at the time. They were ok but I would like more clearance than they offered. So which hwy peg kit would you pick off this link and if you know of even better clearance pegs than these please post up too. Thank ya'll very much!!

I have the Ergo II pegs and I have no problems. I am not dragging my knees in the corners but it has never been an issue for me. It may also depend on what angle you mount the arm for the peg. I have mine angled up. I thiink for the most clearance you could go with the ones mounted on the engine like these AeroPegs

I switched to Kuryakyn Longhorns because they mount on the vertical bar rather than the horizontal bar.

You "bumped into a car at 100 mph" and your Forum name is wingstunter. You should take your stunt riding to a track. The roadways are not a place for stunts. There are other people out there that did not sign up for getting "bumped" by 100 mph reckless motorcycles.

Now now - there's two sides to every story. You're kinda jumpin in half-informed if you ask me. (which you didn't I know).

Yes,you may be correct, but most people consider hitting a vehicle at 100 mph and ripping off a peg a crash, not a "bump," so based upon the "bumped"comment (which implies to me he was makig light of it) the wingstunter forum name and the "we scrap pegs ALOT" comment, all considered together - I made an assumption. Not to mention the guestion about ground clearance for highway pegs doesn'tquite compute to me either. I have no problem grindingpegs in the twisties, but I think that's why highway pegs fold up.

Maybe he bumped the car on a track and it had numbers on the doors - if so, I apologize for my comment, but if not, I don't think hitting a car at 100 mph in a publicly accessible place qualifies for anything but reckless, even if the car was parked. Certainly, it's nothing to be proud of, but then again, you're right, I haven't heard the rest of the story, so maybe I will be surprised when/if I do, and I am totally off base here. In which case, I will retract my comments and publicly apologize. :gunhead:

In retrospect, I should have PM'ed my comments to wingstunter, and for not doing that, I do apologize.

I have rode motorcyles my whole life not doing many real long rides I have still logged over 160k on bikes and have never hit a car before. I made a mistake I didn't look back like I normally do because I didn't think someone would be going fast as me(for some reason) I do like to go fast matter of facted I ride expert on sportbike trackdays. This dude was going at least 110. I still don't consider it a crash because my handle bar never hit the ground that is a crash. We bumped. I love taking the wing to the twisties because we it handles so well in the turns. So that is why I need the ground clearance. I called myself wingstunter because I like to pop wheelies sometime on it because its fun.
