I have this piece dangling from under my false tank. I d,on't know what it is our what it does. Does it affect the tail light and brake lights because somehow I keep blowing a fuse for the back of my bike every time I turn the key. I checked the writing and it seems that there are no wires showing. Connections seen hops but it blows a fuse every time. Thanks

Why can't I upload a picture? **** you gremlins, now your on my phone. Argh!

Well apparently I can't use pics on my phone unless I send them to my iPad then save it and use it that way. Anywho, this is the thingamajig. It's in the front left side just inside the false tank.

Tell us which bike this for, and what color and number of wires the box has going to it. It'd be super easy to find on a wiring diagram with that important info....
Man this updated forum makes you have to post the year and style every time you have a question about the bike. It is a 1982 1100 aspy. It has 5 wires.

I tried to look for diagram but the site was down earlier today
You always did have to post what bike it is, we can't remember them all.
That is the rear air pressure warning control unit. Probably not your problem. There are a lot of things on that fuse, start with the lights themselves checking for shorts.
Well that rules that out.
Below the avatar it used to tell what bike you had. That's where I normally looked for who had what. Thank you for the info on the mystery piece. I will start looking for shorts in the wiring again soon
You will have to put your bike in your signature line like I did. Still you need to include what you are working on in the title or post.
Title needs the make/model

We have always required that you post the make/model in the title.

That is because a lot of folks have multiple bikes and your question is meaningless unless you tell us which one it is......... okay?

There might be a critter under said rock that you might wish you hadn't disturbed.
Well, what effect would it have on the bike?
That is the control for the low rear suspension idiot light, remove it and throw it in said lake!
