You always did have to post what bike it is, we can't remember them all.
That is the rear air pressure warning control unit. Probably not your problem. There are a lot of things on that fuse, start with the lights themselves checking for shorts.

What would happen if someone were to unplug that there little gizmo and...I don't know maybe throw it in a lake or summin like that?

You could be fined for littering.
