What is the difference in the stock trigger wheel and the 4 degree trigger wheel

What is the difference? They look the same. Thanks

The key slot is offset by just 4 degrees, you may be able to see the difference at the perimeter if you stack them together and line up the slots.

Installing it advances the ignition timing by 4*.

I am thinking about installing one is it realy worth it is it safe to install is it ok for an older bike thanks

The trigger wheel is designed for earlier GL1500's. Some owners swear by the trigger wheel, others swear at it and say it makes no difference.

Won't do much for your 97 other than make it harder on fuel.
