I am changing my rear tire on my 98 1500 SE and found this on the floor after i lifted my saddle bag unit up. Not too sure what it is.

Helmet lock shaft. Goes from the lock knob to the lock that you latch your helmet to under the trunk.

:ROFL::ROFL:I just went down and looked and both lock shafts are in place and one is new. i bet the previous owner lost this one in the bags somewhere and could not find it and bought a new one, i can always use extra parts LOL:raspberry::raspberry:
