Yes that is the correct size for the 82.

So what I don't understand is a Dunlop Elite 2 MU9016 is $127.00. A Dunlop 404 140/90/16 is $71.00.

elite is the next tire up in the linebetter grade.but after reading the reviews?

Elite II's are dangerous - Jay Mahn from Florence, Az I purchased my Goldwing with brand new Elite II's on it. I just got back from a 5 state trip and all I have got to say is..They are coming off. They handled squirrel like on rain grooves and you could feel the tire loosing grip in turns. They are a dangerous tire as far as I am concerned. My riding partner had Michelin Commanders and had no problem at all. He had Elite II's prior to the Michelins and he said thats why he dumped them. I am losing these very quickly. Riding in rain was an experience to say the least. They are terrible. - Oct 05, 2009

I have an Elite II on the back of my 1500, great grip little cupping as it's very near the end of it's riding life and good handling in the wet. What pressures are you using in it/them?

not me i just copied the thread from the dunlop web site. there where several more. i have michalins on mine. but i did have a 404 on the rear of my harley and at about half tread it got a little squirrely on the rear also. so i run a different tire on them both now seem to getmuch better mileage from the michs. could have just got a bad tire but it did go quick.

If your looking at the 404 be sure to check the load weight rating . Especially if you ride 2 up . The Goldwings take a heavy tire .

i had the same trouble as wingle when i first bought my 87 aspy

replaced them with Metzler ME880's and never looked back, have about 6000 on them and they are showing minimal wear, when and if they wear out might try the shinko's that some people are talking about now,by that time some people may have worn out a set to get some realistic data

I ride the 82 mainly intown and by myself. Trial and error.

Does the Michelin Commander come in the right size for the 80-83 Wings? That's what I have on my 1200 and I like them.

I replaced the tire on my 82 with the 404 and loved it. And the price was right
