Ouch!!!!1 Bet that one hurt for quite a while.
I wonder how much over the speedlimit he was going ?
It looks to me like operator error.
To much front brake and when the front wheel landed locked up it catapulted the bike. :sadguy:
I bet Evel Knievel would have made that bump!
"The Harley's got a little too much torque when it comes to jumping - Evel Knievel"
Driver Error!

Front brake instead of full throttle and pull back on handle bars.
Someone please explain to me how helmets are not a good idea. That guy would certainly be dead without one.

I agree that this could have been much worse, or VERY worse.

Why is there never a cop around when you need one?:praying:

Amen... how many times did his head bounce? I counted five on the ground and once on the back of the bike. All the ground hits looked like direct hits

There were plenty of them around when he was trying to get up... ;)
I think the operator was done as soon as he was off the seat and over the handlebars. It would be pretty hard to hold the bars steady without being on the cycle. It looked like the forks went to the side and then the cycle came down to the side more than flipping straight over forward. Yes to proper riding gear.

ALL the people in that were police, I was being sarcastic.

In this video you get a fairly good view of how your extremities flair around.
:?
That speed bump needs to go!!!!..Didn't appear to be going that fast, but could you see some unexpecting motorist not almost stopping to go over that speed bump???...Remind me to never ride across that one..Yeah his gear saved him from being a falitiy...One more question??? where was this and why so many police officers "Just happened" to be there at that moment?????

HUMMmmmm ...
Now i wonder if this was staged?
There were no cages in pursuit.
:?
That thought struck my mind too....But if it was staged then for what reason????...At the Mall we have a total of eight speed bumps, three at the North entrance of Macy's, two on the East side of Macy's, to the parking garage...and three at the South side of Sears entrance....Someone decided we needed a few more under the skywalk on "Outer Ring Road", didn't last long because of some of the low sports cars, low riders hanging up on them, they are gone now...As many times during a normal patrol day, we might run over those speed bumps several hundred times (all shifts different drivers different units), but the front ends on our patrol units are always needing work????

Personally I can "see" the need for speed bumps, then there are some that I see no need for...Sign on side of street "Caution Speed Bumps Ahead"....POW!! you hit one before you even see it, yes that sign is right by the first one...Wanna stop "speeding" in that area, park a police officer there a few days of the week, the jerks that do speed, might get the message???...

Speed bumps when I was growing up???..It was usually a dead animal...or our "ramps" that we forgot to move out of the street..In the town were I did most of my growing up, from bicycles to motor scooters to finally our first cars, you didn't speed, because that old judge in that town, threw the book at you...Your neighbors would call the police on you for doing stupid things, then most times "Bulldog" showed up on your front steps wanting to have a "chat", one "chat" with "Bulldog", you got the message!!!...OH well I regressed again...
See less See more
it may have been a police training ride, we see them alot around here. that bump is bad, if you watch all those following going over the bump even slow gave them a big bounce.

Not sure where it was, but I saw it on youtube as being a lead in for a presidential motorcade - that could explain why so many police on the scene. They already had the roads closed and no other traffic at the time of the incident, could also explain the video footage.
