Hello, Im a new member and have a question about wheel bearings. When riding my wing I hear and feel a ruff grind noise when I lean hard into a turn or swerve back and forth. My wing is 1989 with 40k. Would appreciate any help. Do the bearings need replacing on a routin bases. Thanks... RD

It's probably just your disc brake rotors moving and rubbing the brake pads but I'd pull the front axle and check the bearings anyway. Especially if the bike is new to you.
There aren't a lot of backup systems on two wheels.

I change my front wheel bearings every 30,000 - 40,000 miles or so.

Rudy gave him a pretty good place to start. There is very limited information, so it would be a good idea to check the brake pads and the bearings. I always like to start cheap and easy.
