Where's Silverfox "Foxy" been hiding?
there was a news article about a man answering Foxy's description being 'escorted' out of Denmark this weekend :whip::whip:
It's true!! Well mostly, we were escorted by Helen the Viking's sister and brother-in-law, as far as Germany, from there on we hacked down the motorway to Cuxhaven, before a thorough search by police at the ferry port, ( no rubber gloves thank goodness!!) this due to the aniversary of 9/11 apparently. We got home a few hours ago and are pretty tired.

Sadly, we didn't go on the bike, it is difficult to bring back dining tables, grandmother clocks and marble coffee tables, even with the trailer. Next year we hope to do a tour in Europe, and to that end I have just checked out ferries to Calais, £90.00 including trailer and Helen's horns on her helmet.

We did Blackpool, and for all those who didn't see us, we were the one with the 3ft high rabbit tied to the rack, ( he had a pancake on his head until the wind took it off) I was sad not to catch up with anyone from the site, but it all flew by so quickly and we were dragged kicking and screaming into the "Queen Vic" by some very bad Welsh guys and gals, and forced to drink too many "lemonades" and not released until 3am. on Saturday night.

Anyway, we have finished charging round for a while, so you will all have to put up with my ramblings again for the time being!!!

Ah, don't you worry, I come back tired, but refreshed and my bad taste and terrible sense of humour are undaunted. I shall be having some input on the deer alerts and other topics over the coming weeks no doubt.

I am pleased to report that Redwing is not only a grumpy old fella who delights in correcting everyones mistakes, he is also generous enough to part with his neighbours Goldwing parts if anyone asks him to. He happily sent me a left hand rear crashbar from his 1500 FREE of charge!!!!

Redwing,

This goes a bit off topic, but : Certainly You are ! I haven't forgotten the warm welcome in here when I "arrived" :D:cool:

I see that You have updated Your profile now it possible to "spot" You more exactly up in the windy (cold ?) NW Ireland ...

I've also found out what a Honda 50 is (from at time before there wasen't even thought of me, and I've been a bike owner for almost 30 years now, and a Wing owner almost 28 ...:D:cool:)

But "Foxy" is far from poor !!:baffled:
Little do you know mate!! With going to Denmark in the van, we took advantage of the space and came back loaded to the gunnels with stuff. John Hjorth will know the sort of things, Polsors, pickled herring in every type of sauce imaginable and huge joints of gammon, the likes of which, you have never tasted. I am not sure which part of Denmark he comes from, but we shopped at Bilka, the big store in Kolding, boy does that store get my taste buds drooling.

So now we are penniless and I have to go work my socks off, to earn a crust.

One thing I noticed in particular, was the price of fuel, I was hoping to make the most of it and fill up with deisel in Germany, but with everything going on in the world, their prices have shot up and all fuel was as expensive as in England. That is gonna hurt everyone, apparently, there is talk of strikes soon because of it.

To my mind, Redwings helpfulness is invaluable, the only other site I have seen where you get such a welcome, is a medical site I am on, and that is because we all suffer from one particular condition. His cheeky banter is part of the site, and it would be the poorer without him. Sometimes he gets it all wrong, like the colour of the fastest bike, but hey, I for one forgive him this, since his generosity of sending me the crash bar.

Just to finish up, I must tell you, we did manage to buy a couple of things for the Wing, a sheepskin for the saddle, it is big enough to cover it completely and we look forward to trying the comfort soon. The other thing was a couple of neon lights, since we felt somewhat "undressed" at Blackpool. Boy you should have seen the light parade, the Wings definately rivaled the static illuminations!!

Silverfox,

You were about 65 km´s from me, in Jutland - I live in Odense, the largest city on the island Funen, the little island between Jutland and Sealand with our capitol Copenhagen.

Glad to hear that You like our danish goddies ! Bilka has merchandise of good quality - they are allmost in every city of a certain size in Denmark now. Bilka is owned by AP Moeller Maersk, they also own Netto which I think You have in the UK.

Personally I hate Bilka, every time You are there You have to stand in the que for half an hour to get two minute steaks, normally with quite uggly women in jogging dress running their wagon into your rear or your heals. It's called Bilkafobia, You know You're sweating and Your heartrate goes up,starting going in panicand You think when You get out : "Thank You God for letting me out alive...." :D
