I ride two Goldwings 1982A that I have reframed due to rust on the original frame it has 108,000miles on it. Done but tomuch money into it to get rid off. Fun bike to ride.
Then I have a 1990se with 139,000 miles on it. 100,000 the wife and i have put on it after we bought it.
...'97 drk. blue, (looks black) goldwing se. have put 153,000, (of 155,000) miles on her, and loved every ride.
I have a home built trailer, older model time-out camper, neither of which has been used much in years.
...After the first grandchild, we sold the wifes bike, and thats perty much put an end to our riding, we tend to go nowhere anymore without her...altho I am easin' her into ridin...:smiler:
I acquired my GL1800 first. About three years ago I bought a 1983 GL1100I. After riding the 1100 I can now understand how the older Wings put Honda on the map with touring bikes. If I'm by myself and not interested in listening to the radio, I prefer to ride the ll00.
voted today, i have an 82 1100I and it's my first wing. i've ridden lots of bikes ( 81 cb750F, 86 vf1100c magna, 82 gs1100, 81 virago 750, 99 vt800 intruder) out of them all i like the wing the best but have quickly discovered what a tempermental beast it is, ( compared to the others). not complaining, just surprised as this is supposed to be the caddy of bikes.
I had a 1800 for 5 yrs. you know I really never felt comfortable on it,no. of reasons.I thought I would try some older wings .I decided on a 85 1200 LE I enjoy this machine on the highway and in parking lots and I have more acessories than I had on my 1800. A year or two and I"ll have her like new,3 cheers for the 1200
