Fesaner, I,ve had them all from 75 up and in my opinion ONLY the 1500 for comfort. The 1800 for response. and handeling. The difference to me is like night and day. If I were you I would ride them both. My 97 I totally took care of myself except for tire changes easy to work on, and in general a great bike will go as fast as the 1800 just does not get there as quick. The 1800 is harder to do your own maint. couse I have only had it a year but put 28000 miles on it and have done nothing major to it but it seams harder to work on because of the tupperware.
