I just renewed mine today and guess where?

Here in the fiefdom of British Columbia Canada I had to go to ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia) which is a Crown Corporation meaning that the Gubernment has little control over it other than seeing that the books balance.

This is the same Crown Corporation that is ripping off motorcycle owners for insurance.

This is the same Crown Corporation that is spending billions of dollars paid for insurance on road improvements(?).

This is the same Crown Corporation that is spending billions of dollars paid for insurance on traffic enforcement.

I hope none of your Gubernments go down this slippery slop in the name of saving you money like ours did.

Vent over.

Have they ever Not Issued a license due to insurance claims or failure to pay for insurance?
That is the case.
A fellow where I worked hit a parked car while drunk and until he pays for the damage he can't get a drivers licence.

I get mine from the guy in the trench coat on the corner of 6th and J st. Fifteen bucks if he pastes in my picture. $12.50 if I do it myself, but that voids the guarantee.
6th and Jst you say.
Could you be a little more Pacific or would that void your warranty?:sadguy:

And you see a problem with this? :wtf:
Yes I do.:lash:
It should be up to a court of law whether he ever drives again not his insurance company.

I of course agree that penalty's for drunk driving should be harsh but here in British Columbia we even have that bass ackwards. If a law enforcement officer charges you with drunk driving part of the punishment is immediate, you loss your licence for 90 days and your car is impounded at your expense. If when you get your day in court it's proven the officer was in error "to bad so sad".

Great news.

Here in British Columbia if your bridge tolls "We don't have road tolls" are over $25 and you don't pay them you can't get the Government mandated vehicle insurance and can't renew your drivers licence.

It's nice to see that our insurance Company? has added bill collecting to their mandate.

Well at least the NDP did not get in ............... then watch out for more of that !

.
It was the NDP that started this but the Liberals saw it as a cash cow and ran with it.

Right now we're stuck between a rock and a hard place.:lash:

A few years ago Gordo promised to allow private insurance companies to compete with ICBC.

Well he did keep his promise sort of as you can now get extended coverage through private companies but the compulsory part only available from ICBC at $1,500+ a year before discounts if you get any still hurts.
