Somebody installed switch there, maybe rubber piece would work too?

It is a very functional part.

I'm one of those who leaves the stand down often.:baffled:

Ten bucks sounds high, check with your local dealer.

That piece was missing on my 1200. Without it, the side stand will NOT flip up when you lean left.:shock:

Been there...got the t-shirt! Almost wrecked the bike when I first got it last year and many times forgot to put the stand up. I finally got around to installing one on my bike and it works as advertised.

just bought one for my 1100, 6.85 at the dealer. i like those little things fixed, doesnt cost much but makes things nice to me .

I have them on two of my bikes, the 450 Rebel and of course my 1100i. I have replaced them both along with a fresh screw(less than $2). and yes , they do have the purpose of saving my perverbial backside bacon when I have a senior moment about the side stand. Cheap insurance in my book.
