Interesting that over here wearing ear plugs is par for the course, most riders have them as part of their kit, we are told by those who know better that engine/wind noise will damage hearing over prolonged periods of riding, i.e. when touring. Interestingly, from the conversation thread, this doesn't seem to be the practise on the other side of the pond.

Incredible!, ear plugs are standard over here and considered a vital protection to hearing, altough I must admit that I don't see a lot of folks on Goldwings using them, but some do. Those that ride other bikes anddon't have the wind/noise protection of a windshield will wear them as standard.
