This may be a dumb questions but I have a 1996 1500 Goldwing trike with a motor trike conversion. I am getting about 27 to 28 miles to the gallon at 60 to 65 mpr.. The bike was tune up approx. 1 week ago but no change in mileage. The bike has a tall touring windshield. Know here comes the dumb part. Would I get better mileage if I replace the tall shield with a standard one. Thank you.

welcome to a fantastic site. i have a 1995 1500 se. i get around 40mpg using the hard stuff ( 93 oct ). i only have two wheels where you are hauling 3 , two of which are big. i dont have a trike but i would think your doing pretty well. there will be a lot of the trikies along to compare milage. good luck.

FWIW, I just changed from a Markley (+6") to an OEM height screen on an 88 GL1500, I've not seen any marked change in the first tank. I'm not expecting much change in economy, but I'll keep an eye on it this weekend (3-tank trip planned).

I just added a tall windsheild a month or 2500 miles ago, and I have not noticed any change in my mileage,I still get about 40mpg and I'm a pretty good size fellow.....

also,I never run nothing but 87 octane any anything I have...........

in fact the last fill up was 5.155 gallon and had 204 miles on the tank right at 40mpg with or without the wife it doesn't seem to matter....she only weighs 125lbs.
