Wing Ding is going Downtown!

Next July, Gold Wings will take over downtown Des Moines, Iowa as Wing Ding makes not only its first appearance in the Hawkeye State but its first appearance in a downtown setting along the riverbanks of the Des Moines River!

Wing Ding 32 is scheduled for June 30 - July 3, 2010 at the Iowa Events Center. For your convenience, show dates have been changed to Wednesday through Saturday to allow more weekend travel time! Registrations are already rolling in at a record-breaking pace and we expect a great turnout as we prepare to 'Meet in the Middle'!

We are going to Wing Ding this year. I guess that it is about a thousand miles from NC. After rally is over we are going to Yellowstone. Any suggestions

on your way, if time permits. Don't forget to stop at keystone SD., custer state park and the needles loop. then for an interesting site not to far out of the way, on you way to YS check out Devils tower. great stuff!

Just a thought, if you have challenges trying to find lodging, Altoona, Pleasant Hill, and Ankeny are three larger towns within 15 miles of the event with plenty of lodging. All are rather outside of the large city atmosphere.

I have attended ten Wing Ding's since 1995. Locations like:

1. Greenville, SC (twice)
2. Huntsville, AL
3. Springfield, MO
4. Billings, MT (twice)
5. Fort Wayne, IN (twice)
6. Grapevine, TX (Dallas area)
7. Nashville, TN

I am all "burned out" on Wing Ding's. The last one was in 2007. They are all basically the same.........just a different location.

Having ridden in all the lower 48 several times, I have been to all the locations mentioned in the above posts, there are lots of nice things to see in our country.

I am still taking nice trips each summer, just not to Wing Ding's.

It's been over 10 years since I've been to a WingDing, but since this one is so close I'll make a real effort to get there. Do forum members have any kind of event at the WingDings? I would love to finally meet some of you face-to-face.
