Looking for tricks and treats...as in any suggestions what to see and what not to see along the Carolina & Georgia Coast.

Leaving Winnipeg June 27 and as you can see on the avatar, there is a big chunk of eastern coast without a line on it. What's her name even got us a GPS for this year (Hope she knows how to use it!!) Hell, we might not even get lost this year.

I have been busy as of late as we had a real late spring, actually **** weather until2 weeks ago or so. Built my new motorcycle shop, as What's Her Name has taken over the double bay garage. Spent the last 2 weeks getting lots done to the 96 and the trailer and I'm near road ready. Time to get a new trailer soon, real interested in a Travelite Camper if anyone has one up for sale, let me know.

While working on the 96, my shock boot was ready to be replaced. Of course mother Honda doesn't sell one without the shock - $302.00. Stopped at a Shock & Strut outfit and he gave me one in good shape he just pulled of a car. A bit of adapting and it worked out great other than trying to get the shock lined up again to get the bottom bolt started...uugghh...

Worst job was replacing dash bulbs...had one burnt out on the speedo and after all the freakin work to get at the dash, replaced all 15 - $40 worth of bulbs and well worth it if I don't have to disassemble 1/2 the bike again.

Brakes done and system flushed, back tire changed, final drive changed, located wiring short (inside the LED disc cover lights), dash lights, shock boot, trailer tires, bearings, replaced bunches of rivets, and re-attached the bumper-(let loose after last years run)

So....give me some tricks & treats for my trip fella's

Will be doing a day trip today, tomorrow will ferry to Cedar Isalnd then head to the mainland. Should get back on the mainlad in a day or so. She Crab Soup is amazing!!!!!!

gee im glad to see your well on your way. enjoy the weather while you can. its been hot hot here. some rain -- if you happen to be in the right spot. and i mean on the right side of the road. other than that just hot an sunny here. be sure and call when you got closer. wayne

UPDATE!

Missed the call, but our intrepid travelers are setting up camp in Conway SC tonight. Conway is just outside of Myrtle Beach.

They should be calling back a little later, film at 11...

Finally...a connection......Smoking hot this AM died packing up......hitting Myrtle beach and hopefully get ahold of ob1quixote todayMyrtle and head to Charleston, Hope ob1 isn't tied up and can maybe guide us around.

Good to hear kyle is making out fine on the trip. i just got back from spending all day yesterday and last night with RayAndTracy camping up on the BRP.

OB1, can you get me an better idea from Kyle on the route he's taking coming this way? Like how close is it taking them to Spartanburg?

They are planning on leaving for Savannah tomorrow for a 2 day stay. Tentative route leaving Savannah is 95 north to 26 west to 40 west to 74 to 129 into Deals Gap.

Had us a little tour of the town today! Started off with breakfast at the Waffle House, out to my farm/workshop, Stopped to see the Angel Oak, went to the lunch stop from ******* Rumble 1, stopped by the only tea plantation in North America, did the downtown parks and shopping districts, the Hunley crew gravesite {no rain this time!}

Last night, Kyle gave me a REAL treat, a cee-gar with a socialist pedigree....I am ruined for life.

Kyle, give me a call when you just get into Columbia, SC when you come up I-26 and I'll meet you near Newberry, SC and ride with you to the NC state line rest stop on the NC side of the state line.

I always like running north on 321 out of Savannah straight into Columbia, 2 lane most of the way through small towns.

Took a short ride out with Kyle and what's-her-face, I was downright jealous as they headed off to continue their adventure. Since they had a short leg today, I pointed them towards some scenic locations and back roads off the beaten path.

My whole family enjoyed their visit here, hope to see them {or maybe YOU} one of these days!

They did get all the phone numbers and messages y'all sent to me, dont know if Kyle checked his PMs while here though, so look for them to be in contact!
