I must appologize trying to get timelines figured out. :(:(Along with wda-83-wing, we're looking at doing a Tybee Island run on Thursday if anyone wants to join in. Figure we could meet at the Westin Savannah Golf and Spa Resort between 11 & 12, or if there is a better spot to meet I'm all ears.:?:?
OB1 - You have surely insulted the wife by referring to her as WHAT'S HER FACE....:arguing:....the correct reference is WHAT'S HER NAME.......that little faux-pas has disqualified you from the Tybee Island run. Make sure you give our love to HER and LIL HER. How's Mr.turtle and the trained fish doing? We had a blast with you fella...thanks for everything, :bowing::bowing::bowing:and I truly miss my RV having to stay at this dump.

This trip has been amazing and we've been able to avoid these constant afternoon rain storms that seem persistent as of late. I hope it cooperates for the run on Thursday and for setting up camp Thursday night. I sure hope to see some guys that can make the run, but I know what it is like trying to get time lines figured out. Bagmaster I'll give ya a call as soon as I know where and when we'll be, whenever.:?:action::action::action:

Hey Kyle, didya get French Tips with your pedicure?

LOL!!!
and doncha know it ya coureur de bois.

and Wayne - thanks much appreciated.

and bagmaster - surely will be talking to ya soon. Maybe it can be an end of day thing where we can have a beer. Who knows how the hours go

Man did it pour here for a bit this afternoon and calling for scattered rain for tomorrow. No doubt in my mind, rain suits in this humidity is not going to be fun!!! Might be best just to ride naked.

Awesome trip just the same, been able to see all we were planning on so far and want to sincerely thank the guys for their tips and places to hit, would not have been the same trip without you. The big thing I could have done without is all the damn bug bites I collected on the outer banks. No idea when I'll get my next net connection but talk to ya later.

Well, caught up with Kyle at a Waffle House in Spartanburg. He called me from West Columbia and I figured it'd take him an hr and a half to get here. Boy, was I wrong!! he had already beat me to the Waffle House and ate by the time Linda and I got there around 5:15.

So, we ordered and while waiting on our food talked about their trip and all the good folks they had met along the way. I showed them close ups of the roads they want to take to Maryville, Tenn on the laptop after we finished eating.

Rain moved in on us as we finished up and everyone started gearing on the Frogg Toggs. Kyle and Nikki decided to hoof it on up the road another hr to the Holiday Inn at Fletcher, NC and call it a night there. We headed the other direction and wouldn't you know it, 3 miles down the road and we ran out of the slow moving rain and stayed dry the rest of the way to the house.

Oh, I forgot to snitch one of those fine cigars off Kyle before they rode off into the western rain. Maybe next time. :cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1::cheeky1:

Don't fret about the cigar, it was a pleasure for us just to meet you both. Be safe those last few miles to home and we'll see ya on the next trip south, hopefully with more time to spend with each other.

Thanks Bagmaster, and sorry we weren't able to meet you wda-83.

Well, we hit St.Louis and our Interstate 64 was shut down on us just as a severe thunder storm decided to kick up. We took an off ramp onto Boyle St. and had no idea where or what kind of neighborhood we would end up in. Wow did the wind pick up qnd the ugly skies let loose with a torrent. That's what I don't like about cities I don't know, wrong off ramp and you could be in a mess of trouble. We spotted a church that had some people going into and headed for their parking lot.

I would like to thank the folks at West Central Church of Christ for their hospitality and giving us shelter.

After the storm lightened up a bit or at least the thunder and lightning subsided, we folowed the directions given us and made our way onto the Interstate out of St.Louis. We manged to navigate through heavey rain to our exit to US#41. Grabbed a hotel, which gave us a reduced rate at $50.00 taxes in. Pretty scary late afternoon.

`
That type situation is where a good GPS comes in handy.

I did just what you did coming thru St. Louis last year.

Difference was, I touched Where to/Hotels/Nearest/ and pulled into the nearest one to the next exit.

I had had enough rain and hail.

We have one, but it wanted to steer us back to the shut down Interstate, and weren't quite sure we wanted to stay at any hotel that was in the area

We have arrived home, Actually got home Yesterday after a good full day ride from Minneapolis to Winnipeg in the rain. St.Louis wasn't much of a treat the day before either. Thanks to West Central Church of Christ for taking us in during a severe Thunderstom, when we were in a section of a city we had no clue about.

Thanks to that quixote Dude for putting up with us for a few days, but an awesome tour guide. Never would have enjoyed or seen Charleston like we did with you. (You really gotta change that name though dude & Ya didn't get me no boiled peanuts ya cigar smokin peanut hog)

Thanks Bagmaster for you and the wife riding out to meet us and 83-wing for attempting a hook up.

We got to see and do pretty much all we planned on from the Outer Banks-Blue Ridge-Charleston-Savannah-Deals Gap-Smokey's

We were on the Road 18 days with 2 days spent with Quixote in Charleston and 2 days at the Westin Golf & Spa Resort in Savannah.

For those who haven't toured and kind of wondered what the bottom line might be...here goes

18 days - 8,186 klm (5,087mi)
Gas - $407.81

Meals - $833.71 (Generally breakfast and supper eating out)

Camped 10 days - $219.85

Hotel 5 days - $239.35 (We saved $350 on hotels with a gift cert. we had for the Westin Golf & Spa in Savannah which was a real treat and where we stayed for 2 days)

Amenities (snacks, park/ferry fees, beer, ice, repairs etc.) $225.19

Gifts and Souvenir $646.39

Bike mileage hauling a trailer 75mph - 31.2 miles per US gal

Thanks all for their hints and advise on this run...and the She Crab Soup is amazing!!!!!!!
