A picture is worth 1,000 words but I can not find a picture to tell me where to connect the 4 wires in the vicinity of the starter solenoid. Would someone please connect the dots for me? I don't need their name or what they do. Just what post to connect each wire to. Thanks - I bet this could help lots of people!

Your post was more work that the fix.
The reds go to 1 and 2 in any order

The other 2 wires go to 3 and 4 in any order.

Disclaimer::: That is assuming it is OEM equivalent . Some Chinese are wired different. Here is how to be sure. With the battery cable connected 1 and 2 should have power. If not the case just wire it so the 2 red go to power and the other 2 wires go to the other terminals. 😎
