HI fellas,

Im looking at a 1993 interstate 1500 to buy, the bike runs great but wont idle.

it starts everytime you hit the starter button and revs good and fast as long as you are throttling.

The guy tells me its because its been sitting up for a few months.

someone know if this is true or could there be something else wrong?

ON 1000's and 1100's if the idle jets are clogged that's what they will do too.

I would go to a local dealership and get a quote for a carb rebuild before you procede. It can also be used as a negotiating tool for the sale.

hi tommy if you open the gas cap lock the idle speed ajuster is just in there turn it clockwise and back a few times as it has a habit of sticking and set the idle speed to 750rpm if this wont solve the prob get the PO to run a can of seafoam through it in case some of the jets are clogged you wont nesserly need a carb job
