Hello

I have a very good gl110 engine and gl1100 donor bix that crashed. All parts are good but the fram is bent.

I like the whells of the GL1100 83 or the 1200 83 the solid spoke kind not the comstar.

Would that 1100 engine fit in a 1200 frame?

It would be easier to find another 1100 frame with a title off Ebay. That way you know everything will fit. Frames with a title can be had pretty cheap.

From what I understand the frames between the 1100 and the 1200 are different. the 1200 had been beefed up over the 1100 frame. For example the drivers floor board kit for a 1100 will not fit a 1200. as far as the engine bolt pattern....... i don't know.

The engine area of the 84 up 1200 frame is different, the mounting points are different, and the 1100 engines are shorter in lenght and width. The 1100 engines will work in the 1000 frames (with minor mods) and the 1100 frames only. The 83 wheels can be made to fit all models of the 1100 by using the brake rotors and hardware of the corresponding model.:)

Check your local bike salvage yards or check with the members here about a 1100 frame ...this would keep your headaches down.....
