Today, a very generous wing mech gave me a bunch of backrest parts. Two sets of brackets(both fit the 84 GL1200A)-two curved rails for the seatback, and one backrest. There was no bracket to attach the backrest to the chrome tube rail, and one of the big knurled tightening handbolts is missing(for the for /aft adjustment). I have no idea what brand they are. I am hoping that someone may have what I need or send me a good pic of the bracket so I can try to have one made. Not having much luck so far with seeing one on another wing.

Thanks

Best bet is to post some pics here of what you have so we know exactly what type you have. Heck if its the same as mine I might be able to fab somethin for you that you could then get chromed......:clapper:

Here is a pic of the missing backrest bracket. Non of it is cleaned up yet so please excuse the mess

And speaking of pack rat damage, here is what a GD cat did to this backrest.

Yup, if I can get a look at the bracket, I can get out my trusty welder and fab one as well. Hopefully someone will have a pic.

Thanks

Here is what I came up with. Took a ride this aft and it was very comfortable. Now to cover it with something decent looking.

Since I can't figure out how to get two pics in the same post, here is a pic of my new setup from another angle. I was able to locate a set knob at a local bike shop today too. Very fortunate.
