I recently installed the Audiovox FM modulator, when you switch it on it completely blocks out any incoming FM signals.
I tried two 20$ FM modulators but had some kind of interference.
A bit pricey but worth it, just needed a $4.00 Y adapter to complete the install.

What model and where did you get your modulator??
Audiovox FMM100A FM Modulator With Isolation Transformer Audiovox: FRYS.com #: 5512800

I see there is a store 41 miles from you on the Beltway.

I just happened to stop at a bike shop while I was near Indy and had heard of Frys but never had been in one, boy what a toy store :)

The "Y" adapter was Philmore 44-345 although it was 6 foot long it did away with the very very long phono cable that was in the package.

Not sure about the 1500 but mine resides comfortably in the left side pocket with the cables connecting under the false tank except for the cable that goes to my GPS/MP3 player.

All the cables and the unit fill up the pocket along with a 12v cigarette power outlet for the GPS but I never used the pocket anyway.
