Year fuel injection was added to goldwings?

Does that mean it (fuel injection) was optional? If so, when did it become standard? I may be looking at a '93. Haven't gotten ahold of the owner yet. Just wondering if it's fuel injected and if it's a 1500 or 1800?

A '93 will be a carbureted 1500. As far as I know, FI was not used on the 1500s.

In 93 there was only the Goldwing 1500. This is a carb. model and it has 2 carbs, one for each bank of 3 cylinders ( total 6 cylinders)

When running correctly, it runs as well as a fuel injected bike, which was NOT offered in 93. Good luck with your search. Get the SE or Aspencade as they have reverse .

Fuel injected Wings:

1985 GL1200 Limited Edition
1986 GL1200 Aspencade SE-i

All GL1800s are fuel injected.

All others will be carbs.

There was a recall on the Fuel Pump Shut-Off (Bank Angle) sensor on the 1993 Gold Wing's. Ask the owner if that recall was performed.

Actually the recall was for 1988 through 1993 Gold Wing's.

and if the recall was not done, print the paper work off and take it to your local Honda dealer and get it done.



My 89 is scheduled to go in next Tuesday to get it done. The service guy was whinning and crying about having to do it. Told him sorry, its a open recall:cooldevil:

no 1500 wing is fuel injected. the '85 ltd and '86 se-i are fuel injected the interstate and aspencade models of the same years are not

when did the electric reverse on 1500...1800 Goldwing start ..thanks

Reverse came on the 1988............!

However, the 1991 - 1996 "Interstate" Gold Wing's do not have reverse.
