To find out whether or not your bike's forks are equipped with air valves, check under the fork caps and you should see an air valve there. If it does, they only require a small amount of air to pressurize them to run in the 6 -14PSI range. A small bicycle pump works well for this.

As for the harshness, I am betting that your fork fluid needs changing out and flushed, followed by the correct amount of some new15w, or 20W fork oil. Might want to check that the anti-dive system is functioning properly as well.

Unscrew the top covers of the fork tubes and you will find an air nipple under each cover. I believe the recommended pressure is only about 6 lbs, and it is quite tricky to get it at that pressure without a special hand pump/guage. However, it can be done with most any hand pump thru a trial and error method, and using a low pressure guage.

The cap on the top of your forks just screws off (counter clockwise). The maximum pressure recommended by Honda is 6 psi. Of course this is for the standard OEM fork springs. If you have Progressive fork springs, then you don't add any pressure to the forks.

I had Progressive fork springs, and found that I liked it better with 2 psi

Depends on your own body weight. I'm at 260#

Just make sure the anti-dive system is'cleaned out/flushed', while changing the fork oil. Old fork oil is nasty and will 'gum up' the anti-dive system somewhat.
