OEM tire size should be on a tag under trunk lid or thereabouts.

 

Hondas micro fiche states that your bike takes a 140/90-16 on the rear.

This is what you need.

 

1982-83 models have a 16" rear wheel. Only the 1980-81 have a 17" rear.

Tire Size

I have an '82 Standard, and the tires were just replaced. In the rear is a 140/90-16 Kenda Kruz.

 

All responses greatly appreciated. About 10 minutes after my first post I suddenly realized that I have that handy little blue book that has been sitting under the tool kit under the false tank cover for the past 30 years. As stated above, it specifies a 140/90-16 rear tire and I already have one on order.

That just goes to show that we've gotten so used to having all the information in the world at our fingertips, we sometimes forget to look in the place that has only the exact information we need. I know my life would be simpler if I remember that now and then.
