Eastwood Tank Sealer Kit:Is it Possible?

I asked this as a secondary question in another thread, but I wanted to ask again with the question in the title. The inside of my tank is pretty rusty, and I have an Eastwood Fuel Tank Sealer kit that I want to use on it. Is this possible to do without clogging the filter screens inside the tank? I know there is no way to do it with the screens in place, so I guess my question is really: Is there a way to get these screens out?

I don't see how these screens can be serviced unless tou can fit your hand through the fuel gauge sender hole and still manipulate your fingers. Can you slide a piece of vinyl hose into the tube to rupture the screen? If you can rupture the screen you would be able to keep poking while the sealer was setting. I'd do electrolysis and forget the sealer.

I used POR15 sealer and was able to put some in the tank and turn the tank slowly and coat the whole tank w/o getting on the screens. It was fairly easy..with teh gas sender unit out you can see into tank fairly well. Last sstep is to lay the tank on the right sdie seal the sender unit port with some rubber and the locking ring and turn the tank upside down to seal the top and down the sides a bit..

I'm not familiar with your product but I used Por-15 to seal my gl1000 tank and it is thin enough to drain off the screens. The mesh is fairly course and I had no problems with the sealer. The last step is to hang upside down and drain. Didn't even clog the fuel tubes.
