A member and I are both having cruise control issues. I know I have a bad front brake switch and my clutch switch is not engaged when the clutch is released.Where is the location to the switch for the foot brake.
Is there another cancel switch I should look at before going further with the cruise vac lines and actuator....etc.

To ajust the rear break peadel you need to remove the exhaust heat shield and the shield over the master cylinder no 3 in the fiche

Most of the time it is in aftermarket clutch and brake chrome levers, do you both have same levers from same suppliers? Have you tried pushing outward and upward on both levers while trying the set button?
Have you cleaned the switches on your bikes? Use spray electrical contact cleaner in the switches, all push buttons and safety switches.
Is your brake light staying on to think the rear switch is a problem?

First thing is you have to fix you front brake switch and clutch lever problem.

Well the brake switch is working now but the clutch lever just doesn't reach the switch when released.Should I weld a piece of metal to the brake lever?

Its a stock lever that is not racing the switch.I think the end that meets with the plunger has worn enough to cause this issue. So in order to repair this issue I will need new pkunger and other hard parts which are not usually replaceable items

the way it looks is when you release the clutch lever the switch should be activated. Which is an open circuit so removing the switch wont help much. I am gonna try taping the switch closed on my next ride and see if this allows the cruise to engage.

I have adjusted the pedal a few weeks ago but only saw one switch. the one attatched with a spring which activates the lighst when pulled down by the brake pedal.

the hand lever has a dual swicth I wonde rif it is the same with the foot brake switch.

When you release the clutch it does push the switch which opens it, not close it so disconnecting it is the same as pushing the pin in.
The rear brake cruise cancel switch is separate from the brake light switch, it is a micro switch above the master cylinder.

This is what I am saying. The switch is not touched with the lever released so removing it will be the same as leaving it alone.

My problem is not that the lever touches the switch. The problem is that the switch is NOT ACTUATED by the lever when left alone.

In a working unit Pulling the lever releases pressure off the switch and releasing the lever presses the switch in.But my unit is sloppy and does not touch the switch.

Either way I tried taping the switch in and it did not help any. the cruise still wont set.

That other switch is to the rear of the foot brake switch and not even visible from above. If you have a bike lift, raise the bike, crawl under it on a creeper, and look up in the area of the rear wheel well. They really buried this switch, and it's a royal PITA to get to. Mine was bad on my 1998 SE, but I was able to get it working by spraying it with Radio Shack Tuner cleaner.
