Thanks for all of the advise. I finally took out the two screws holding it together, cleaned it and put it back together. Works like a champ.

Again, thanks for your advise.

I have not been able to ride lately, because my Hazard lights wont turn off. I have lubed the button, but it looks like it is working correctly. Has anyone had this problem before? Any feedback would be welcome. I must ride!

On my 1200 had the same problem shortly after aquiring it. I just lubed and worked it a bunch till they went out. A few other switches had simular problems. I'm hoping to take em all apart for a heavy cleaning and put them back in better working order. We'll see how that works out.

I had this same problem a couple weeks ago. I did get it to un-stick but a few days ago I took it out of the bike, cleaned it up and lubed it again. Now it works perfectly. It helps if you have little fingers to do the job. Or find someone with little fingers to help you out. Pay attention to how it all comes out of there because theres no extra room so its all got to go back it exactly the same way! I did this on my 98 SE.

BTW, Welcome to the site buckodub. Glad to have you aboard! You will find a wealth of info here. Just ask and you will receive. Sooner or later!

Thanks for the reply. I still can't get them to turn off. I have lubed it a couple of times, and almost broke the switch by pushing it in so hard, but no luck turning them off.

I don't believe that the button has release. It does not look like it is far enough out, even though I have lubed it up a few times and worked at getting the button to pop out for hours now.

Is it a cheapie switch to buy and replace? or should I keep at it.

Thanks for your suggestion. Enjoy.

Hi buckodub, what are you lubing the switch with, only I tried with contact cleaner and no joy, but WD 40 got it going and then contact cleaner kept it free for some 2 years. The other thing is when trying to release the button, just pressing it hard will do little good, try using your thumb nail to kind of flick the edge, this was what worked for me after I had tried just pressing for a good while.

If you guys have the game "tiddlie winks" out there it is the same principle as flicking the coloured counters into the pot. :)

Hi guys..my situation is a little different. When I push the 4 way button in..only the left side lights come on. The switch wont stay in either. Any ideas why only half the lights would blink? All the lights and blinkers work fine otherwise...

Thanks

Thanks for all of the advise. I finally unscrewed the 2 screws holding it together, like mentioned, cleaned it and put it back together. I works like a champ.

Again, thanks for all the advise.
