Does anyone have a good suggestion for this repair? The location is right side and it's on the inside facing the tire. Just got my PG installed and am putting her back together. BTW, that shine is from steel wool and elbow grease. Then rubbed her down with Flitz. Thanks! JR

Don't know about JB weld but I used to fix holes that size with the exhaust repair kits and mesh
I'll remember the shiny tip for my next wing, will it get rid of the battery acid staining

an experienced welder can tig you a patch over an area a little larger, but other areas near there may be just as bad

Well in the middle of a Pulse Generator replace I decided to use JB Weld on my exhaust leak to fix her up. Location was on the right side underneath near the center stand leg. I used some aluminum screening to cover the area and layered the JBW several times. Capped it off with a piece of galvanized metal more JBW around the edges and painted. Just wanted to finish the post now that I'm back on the road. Thanks to all you guy s for your help!JR

My jb weld never held up on the muffleea. It will eventually cook itself off. If it falls out you may want to try riveting a steel plate on thw affected area then a lil torch and lead brazing to fill the holes. I measured the temp around that area with a lazer thermometwe a few years back and it was in the 800 degrees Zone

I too think the patch might fail in a short time though it looks good. First choice is to weld a patch. Second choice is get some exhaust sealer (It's made to withstand the heat) and cover the patch with the sealer. Next drill and sheetmetal screw it on. The sealer will ooze in to any voids to seal it up. That stuff gets like porcelain when it hardens and heat doesn't bother it.

Nice patch job. Just FYI, I've used JB Weld (the dough type) on a much large hole then that and it's still holding strong. I think good prep is the key.

Will be buying a new exhaust but just needed a temp fix. Been about 7 months now without any problems. That stuff is awesome.

Looks good. I've got rusted out collectors on head pipe ends, and on the rear muff. sections , can't connect the head pipes to the mufflers. I hope I can weld new pipe without burning threw with my mig welder. I'm wondering if the 1200 exhaust system can drop straight down in one piece , if so, I'll could weld it all up solid without the front and rear connecting clamps and gaskets. Does anyone know if this could be done?
