Schuberth helmet

I like the look of the Schuberth open face helmet with the steel chin guard.

I've been using full face helmets for as long as I can remember, but this new style appeals as it seems to give far better vision. However, I'm concerned that the usual Honda intercoms for this open face helmet may clash with the chin guard. Has anyone had experience of this? It would be useful to know before I purchase.

Hey John,

I was over in Andorra (tax free principality between Spain and France) and bought a couple of the Schubert jet style helmets with the chin guard. I was impressed by the field of vision it gives you and the comfort that if ever, God forbid, I find myself going backwards down a road the chin guard will take the punishment.

Not cheap: 375 Euros each but the finish is great. Even have a built in sun visor inside the shell. They have a leaflet to help install the intercom.

John, if you mean the J1, I bought one recently, but am having trouble getting the Autocom earphones to stay put. The open face mic boom does not interfere with the chin guard. I find it impossible to get this helmet on or off with the chin guard in position. It is a comfortable helmet to wear without the guard, but very rigid with.
The visor is huge and optically true and has a one click method of removal.
